| Hadley U is a drop-in, after school program at Hadley operating on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3:30-4:45 from September through April. The program is free and open to any Hadley student. Hadley U consists of a 30-minute homework time where a snack is provided and students have an opportunity to do, and receive help on their homework. The rest of the time is spent on community-building activities – knitting, board and card games, computer games, basketball, kickball, badminton, etc.
Research has shown that students who participate in extra-curricular activities at school do better socially and academically. Involvement in a school activity increases self-esteem and a sense of belonging, and helps kids to experience pride about their school. Hadley U promotes enjoyable positive interactions with counselors, teachers, peers, and volunteers. Students can join Hadley U at any point during the school year and can attend once or twice a week, as often as they are able to attend. Parent permission is required to be involved in the program. Permission slips for Hadley U are available outside Hadley’s main office.
Attendance at Hadley U is taken daily. If parents have a question regarding their child’s attendance, they may contact the counselor.
If you have further questions, please contact a counselor.
